Bahamian Street Art .
When traveling, I make sure to look for the street art because it’s a great way to learn about the culture. It’s all about context. I mean, you wouldn’t see this in NY and the subject matter wouldn’t usually have palm tree outlines, an island print, and a different language tagged on a wall. The colors are used differently too; a bright orange wall contrasting a Caribbean blue sky. If you walk around the local neighborhoods, you’ll notice their bright choice of color on Westernized architecture. Some buildings are neon coral with dark brown window shutters. You don’t see that everyday.

Street art in Greenich Village, NYC.
Bold line quality on repeat, softened by a calming teal. <—I’m into it

I love unexpected surprises walking down a really busy, somewhat annoying street in a city. Mood breaker for sure, but I’m thankful for those moments. Sometimes you just need to hit that reset button for a good, fresh start.
Have a good day folks!

Etched and carved out of one of downtown L.A.’s archival buildings.  I love Downtown L.A.! As my stay in L.A. is coming to a close, I can’t help but proudly acknowledge that it is DOWNTOWN that won my heart. If you visit me, watch, we will be all over down town. It’s my territory that I just want for myself. Simply because Downtown keeps it real. This ghost town has a myriad of surprises true to art, entertainment, and history. It doesn’t let the glitz and glamour of Hollywood phaze it because the TRUE HOLLYWOOD was birthed here. The tragic love stories, the underground world of flappers and gangs, the classic icons( Charlie Chaplan, Mae West, Humphry Bogart) … all from the real roaring twenties of Hollywood’s Silent Era lived and partied HERE! Trust me, you can still feel them and I’m so happy to be introduced to it during my time here in L.A.

Anyways…you always run into big time art pieces, galleries, movie shoots, celebrities here.
