Brooklyn, NYC street strollin’ where graffiti and art are just live. You look left or right, it doesn’t matter… you’ll be surrounded by 100s of moments that random people have left. Through months or years, these moments, in marking form, stand frozen in time; like a conversation waiting to be started. I love that idea, because you can’t ever feel alone. Take the time to acknowledge what’s around you. NYC can feel so lonely sometimes, but that’s when you look down to only see the next step ahead. Don’t! You gotta keep your scope open!

Refinery29 did a beauty feature on me last week - but inez galvez is a designer though :/ lol. EXACTLY!
“Can Real Girls Pull Off Runway Beauty Looks?”, was the name of the shoot and I know first hand that we can! Real girls that grind their way around NYC was the key target and yours truly got to play with the big Runway pros. It was really fun and I got to wear my turbans all over the office! haha Refinery took a look from the Marc by Marc Jacobs show, noted the big hair, and decided to put me in the look. But to be honest, it looked better in person. lol The end result in photos looked way more subdued than in real life, making my excited reaction different. But hey…it’s okay! It was a blast, met talented, amazing people, and learned a few beauty tricks along the way. Here is the before and after shots from my personal, handy phone and shots from the site.

Refinery 29 chose me, @inezgalvez aka nezzifresh lol, to do a feature with them. So awesome! They were looking for ‘Real Girls’ to pluck out from their interesting NYC whirlwind of a life and play Runway dress up with. I feel extremely blessed to have been chosen. I don’t know, maybe it’s because I have big hair and I’m an NYC accessory designer? Whatever it is, DOPE! I guess that’s interesting and real enough lol.
So I had the shoot and it was so much fun. I got to work with the actual Marc by Marc Jacobs Runway teams for my hair and make-up and, by golly gee wow lol, they know exactly what they’re doing. It was amazing and I’m extremely Thankful and inspired. Esp thankful for my sidekick, Avalonne Hall, for getting me to here. (biggest support and encouragement. Reminds me to dream and be selfless in this menacing playground of NYC lol and I’ll rant on about her forever because…i feel sanity bc of her) But anywho, these pics are just litte teasers. I chose to edit them in black and white for now. You know…to keep that thang called, ‘mystery’, goin? When the actual feature date will be announced, I’ll be posting the before and after process shots and behind the scenes for ya’ll.

Long overdue post on my birthday and poloroid pics. @avalonnehall and @illpoetik got a few folks together and put together a birthday dinner/ bar hopping escapade upon my NYC arrival.
