Japanese Sculptor, Takao Sakata, displayed his installation up at the AG Gallery / Store here in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  This post is long overdue…oops!
I was walking around Williamsburg and stumbled upon this quaint boutique filled with great Vintage. What was really cool is that it’s a half boutique and half art gallery. Walking a bit further through the store, you walk straight into this gallery taken up but Takao’s installation. He told me how he wanted to recreate an underwater world one can be a part of. The glass hanging in mid-air are glass blown fish, hung by fishing wire from the ceiling. In the middle is a suspended branch with more glass work. Beneath that is sand, with fragments of broken glass fish. Takao was kind enough to give me a piece, the one that I am holding, as a gift.
