I love this write up!!!- check out The Smithsonian post about my episode on Maker’s Lane
I’ve never had anyone follow me around for a few days to capture what I do daily. Not just physical things, but even the emotional and mental work. I mean, learning the ropes of roles that I’ve never tapped into before can be a paralyzing process. It’s a “24 hour job”, as the post explained, of connecting dots and shifting/breaking/re-creating rules until they fit. But I haven’t been able to fully FEEL how much I’m learning and accomplishing until I saw the Maker’s Lane episode and read the Smithsonian post. Being put into a story, written by an outsider’s lens and being asked really relevant &significant questions was an awakening experience for me, and kind of therapeutic. It got me to know that I can TRUST myself and realize how necessary breaks of reflection are needed to move on. To BELIEVE in my work the way I choose to. No one else will know your mind and your work as well as you do.
So I need to give a big big big THANK YOU to Sahra Vang Nguyen for this monumental experience.Your perfect visual narrative and story telling was done so beautifully and intelligently - this goes for all of the episodes by the way! You’re a freaking beast and you inspire me! Your vision is power and I know that everyone who will watch will realize that they are CAPABLE.
