Japanese Sculptor, Takao Sakata, displayed his installation up at the AG Gallery / Store here in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  This post is long overdue…oops!
I was walking around Williamsburg and stumbled upon this quaint boutique filled with great Vintage. What was really cool is that it’s a half boutique and half art gallery. Walking a bit further through the store, you walk straight into this gallery taken up but Takao’s installation. He told me how he wanted to recreate an underwater world one can be a part of. The glass hanging in mid-air are glass blown fish, hung by fishing wire from the ceiling. In the middle is a suspended branch with more glass work. Beneath that is sand, with fragments of broken glass fish. Takao was kind enough to give me a piece, the one that I am holding, as a gift.

BERRY ST. LIVING…BY NIGHT
My favorite time to chill in the apartment is at night. The lighting makes it such an intimate spot for winding down from the busy day. Then when you have the windows open, there will be a breeze that just puts you at peace.  I’d have to thank the lamps and christmas lights that provide all the night lighting. They set focus on certain areas of the apartment and make them look so inviting. This is when you’ll find my roommates and I seriously relax, talk, create, or sit together and watch Dexter. haha.
Ill take more pictures of the space later. This will do for now. =)

So I finally had a little bit of time to walk around my neighborhood as I was doing errands. Then low and behold, on the other side of my block behind my building appeared, BROOKLYN BOWL! **Singing angels appear***audience applause***

BERRY ST. LIVING

(Williamsburg, Brooklyn)

Snip it of just a view in my bklyn abode. It is a beautiful home belonging to a very inspiring family. What I love most are their decorations and how they orig. built it from selections of Bkln junk. Now it is turned into a beautiful collection. They were the O.G. artists of New York that moved out to BKLN when it was run down 30 years ago. Apart from collecting rare scraps, like massive metal-backed mirrors from old restaurants, they’ve managed to keep this old meat packing factory they’re living in right now too. Whatever urged them to come out here at that time takes a certain fearless and motivated person. Quite frankly, I’m just inspired. They’re a husband and wife that are so creative and ambitious. I hope I  take on those admirable elements of their lifestyle. yup! A true brooklyn couple, youll hear about their stories here throughout the months ill be here.

Hung are webbed christmas lights hung from a wooden beam as if it was a fish net.

Behind it on the left is a piece painted by one of the owners and the plant on the right is 1 of 8+ jade plants that her husband picked up off the streets. It started as 1 plant but he grew it strong and plentiful that he carefully grew 7 more from it. Wait till you see the rest of their place! Keep stoppin by to see more…
