NYC subway scenes and their random quirks. haha This musician was pulling his jazz bass down the 6th Ave station and, amongst the chaotic tunnel, this thing was sooo distracting! haha In a good way of course. Oh Manhattan…you and your many personalities!

Stacked. Went out for a Brooklyn stroll one day. Nothing all that special. Just needed to get lost in solitude and admire my surroundings. One of the spots I got visual inspiration from was taken at a local, Brooklyn grocery store. I saw stacks of products spilling out of the door, forming masses of disordered detail and pattern. I kind of…really, loved it! If you think about it, it’s design from a naturally occurring event. These events are all around us, every day. We do it. The world does it. Design is unpredictable. It’s funny how we all forget to notice.  So here’s some visual inspiration. Let it remind us to be inspired every day,  by the simplest and most unpredictable things. Cool? Cool!

Must fully cross this off next year!
“Learn Brazilian Portuguese”
I came out here with a bucket list of things to do. One of them is to learn Brazilian Portuguese. Why? Because it makes singing in Bossa Nova more sexy.  So I linked up with my homie, Hector, and we’ve been doing a language exchange for 6 1/2 months now. His story is so inspiring and beautiful. He has a very wise and positive outlook on everything, it’s starting to become a therapy session or something. haha Other than that, our favorite topics are about the music and the people, but this insider’s perspective is just revving up my traveling addiction. But let’s focus on becoming somewhat ‘conversational’, then a trip to this dreamland shall follow…like during the World Cup :)

Shadows and Shapes.
I always have urges to color in shadows and I think I’m going to do it. If any of you do it, make sure you show me.

Elixir After Elixir
New York City’s party scene is no joke. Been having very interesting conversations and experiences with a lot of people here and… it’s kind of movie status. What I think makes it different from most places is that, it’s ALL business. No really, the ultimate BEAST of all Party-Business networking.
Strategizing, Name Dropping, and $FRE.00 EVERYTHING! That could be a good thing, or a BAD thing!
Oh New York, quit testing me. lol

When my mom came to visit me here in Brooklyn, she stopped to admire the tree against the white and black building. This was at night, mind you, because the street lamp made the tree look like it had white leaves. Then she said, “Let’s walk on that side tomorrow so we can take pictures.” But after she said that, I was like, “…or now.” lol  Her excitement confirmed our mother-daughter similarities since I’d always tell my friends to admire the beautiful building with me when we’d pass by it. But when Autumn came, the building became the loveliest background for this overlooked tree. Anyways, HAPPY AUTUMN, FOLKS!

The actual pictures we took at night and the next day. Montrose Ave . at the L Stop

Public Guitar chained to a subway bench!

I originally thought someone had left it there, thinking they were crazy to forget something like that. But I was wrong. People can be so generous at times. Lol

If you ever take the G line in Brooklyn, stop at Carroll St. station and you’ll find it.

Street art in Greenich Village, NYC.
Bold line quality on repeat, softened by a calming teal. <—I’m into it

I love unexpected surprises walking down a really busy, somewhat annoying street in a city. Mood breaker for sure, but I’m thankful for those moments. Sometimes you just need to hit that reset button for a good, fresh start.
Have a good day folks!
